Ms. Báez is a Junior Consultant at Acerta Consulting, where she supports bookkeeping, financial reconciliations, and tax compliance for investment funds and management entities. She assists with monthly close activities, preparation of basic financial statements, and coordination of documentation for regulatory and audit purposes.

Prior to joining Acerta, she held accounting roles at AFI Popular, Moore ULA, and Estrafin. Her experience includes maintaining general ledgers, preparing and submitting tax filings in the Dominican Republic (606, 607, 608, IT1, ISR), performing bank and account reconciliations, managing payroll and payables, and supporting annual closing cycles.

At AFI Popular, she also assisted in preparing reports for the Superintendence of Securities and supported fund closing procedures using the SIFI system.

Career Highlights

  • Proven experience in general and fund accounting, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Hands-on knowledge of tax compliance in the Dominican Republic, including the preparation and submission of 606, 607, 608, IT-1, and ISR filings.
  • Skilled in managing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, as well as assisting with internal audits and client reporting.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to support closing cycles and coordinate documentation for external auditors.

Prior to Acerta Consulting

  • AFI Popular (Dominican Republic): Served as Deputy Manager in Accounting, responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial statements and regulatory reports for the Superintendence of Securities (SIMV), overseeing tax filings, and executing fund closings using the SIFI system.
  • Moore ULA (Dominican Republic): Advanced through progressive roles from Accounting Assistant to Accountant II. Managed bookkeeping, reconciliations, monthly and annual tax filings, client communications, and financial statement preparation under IFRS. Supported audit processes and provided client advisory on accounting matters.
  • Estrafin (Dominican Republic): Accounting Associate responsible for bookkeeping using Allegra, internal audit support, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and preparation of statutory filings.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Universidad APEC (Dominican Republic)
  • Diploma in Tax Management, Caes Academy (2024)
  • Certified in IFRS for SMEs, Instituto de Contadores Públicos Autorizados de la República Dominicana (2023)
  • MBA in Business Administration with a specialization in Financial and Enterprise Risk Management, EUDE Business School (in progress)
